A Summer Stunner

Whistler always makes lists of the world’s best ski resorts, but summer adventures abound as well. When the weather shifts, the vast village and awe-inspiring mountains turn into a playground for those who get their thrills
on two wheels.

WHERE TO RIDE
Whistler Mountain Bike Park
This world-class, downhill bike park is easily the biggest draw to Whistler Blackcomb during the summer. There are lift-accessible trails for riders of all levels, and even a bike school for those who want a little guidance navigating the dynamic terrain. Every summer, riders from all over flock to the resort to play in the largest bike park in North America and enjoy the breathtaking nature, black bears usually included.

WHAT TO DO
Cloudraker Skybridge
While you’re at Whistler Blackcomb for a summer adventure, when you’re done with the bike park, check out the Cloudraker Skybridge. Spanning 130 meters, from Whistler Peak to West Ridge, it is the most fantastic way to see the full glory of the mountains. Crossing high over the Whistler Bowl, it will challenge those with a fear of heights, but the views are well worth the effort.

WHERE TO EAT
Days are long when you’re working hard on the trails. Make sure to stay nourished at these eateries:
The Umbrella Bar
There is no doubt that the Umbrella Bar is the perfect place to end a day of riding. The bar is located at the top of Whistler Mountain and boasts 360-degree views. So there isn’t a bad seat in the house to sip a signature cocktail and share the day’s trails stories. Small bites to eat are also available.

Purebread Bakery
This is the go-to spot for a pre-ride breakfast. Located in the Whistler Village, this bakery has all the decadent breads, cakes, and sweet and savory pastries you can imagine. Frequent diners know there’s usually a line, but it’s well worth the wait.
