American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program
The purpose of the program is to teach individuals of all ages to be safe in, on or around the water.  The program covers the knowledge and skills needed for aquatic skill development.  As participants develop these skills, they will become safer and better swimmers.  Skills are grouped into the following aquatic and water safety categories: Water Entry & Exit; Breath Control & Submersion; Buoyancy; Changing Direction & Position; Treading Water; Swimming on Front & Back; and Water Safety.

Parent & Child (P&C) Aquatics (6 mos – 3 years, class size 8)
P&C Aquatics introduces basic aquatic skills to parents and children. more info >

Preschool 1 (3 – 5 years, class size 5)
Prerequisite: none
P-1 is designed to orient young children to the aquatic environment and help them gain basic water skills in each skill category. more info >

Preschool 2 (3 – 5 years, class size 5)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of P1 or assessment and placement by instructor prior to first day of class.
In P-2 students build on the elementary skills learned in P-1 and add independent forward motion to skills performed on their front and back. more info >

Preschool 3 (3 – 5 years, class size 5)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of P2 or assessment and placement by instructor prior to first day of class.
Through guided practice students develop more coordinated and proficient skills. more info >

Youth 1: Introduction to Water Skills (6 – 12 years, class size 6)
Prerequisite: student must be 6 years old, no swimming skills required
Y1 introduces students to basic water safety information as well as skill to help participants feel comfortable in the water. more info >

Youth 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills (6 – 12 years, class size 6)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Y1 or assessment and placement by instructor prior to first day of class.
Y2 is the foundation for future stroke development, focusing on changing directions and body position while swimming forward greater distances and longer periods of time.  more info >

Youth 3: Stroke Development (6 – 12 years, class size 6)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Y2 or assessment and placement by instructor prior to first day of class.
Participants learn to coordinate front crawl & elementary backstroke, are introduced to the scissors and dolphin kicks and build on the fundamentals of treading water. more info >

Youth 4: Stroke Improvement (6 – 12 years, class size 6)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Y3 or assessment and placement by instructor prior to first day of class.
Y4 participants improve endurance and confidence by swimming familiar strokes for greater distances. more info >

Youth 5: Stroke Refinement (6 – 12 years, class size 8)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Y4 or assessment and placement by instructor prior to first day of class.
Y5 students can comfortable swim all six strokes, 2 safety strokes and 4 competitive strokes, for 15 yds or greater. more info >

Youth 6: Fitness Swimmer (6 – 12 years, class size 8)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Y5 or assessment and placement by instructor prior to first day of class.
The objectives of this level are to refine strokes so participants swim them with more ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances. more info > 

Youth 6: Endurance Swimmer (6 – 12 years, class size 8)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Y5 or assessment and placement by instructor prior to first day of class.
The objectives of this level are to increase efficiency and power over increasing distances and times. Students also learn circle swimming, pace clock use, exercise equipment, proper warm-up and stretching and competitive swim preparation. more info > 

ADULT

Adult Swim Classes
Beginning and Intermediate levels follow the same session schedule and price fee as our preschool and youth classes. 
Beginning Adult is for those ages 13 and up and will introduce students to basic water safety as well as skills to help participants feel comfortable in the water. 
Times: Tuesday or Thursday, 7 p.m.

Masters Adult Fitness Swimming is an adult swim-training program designed to promote and enhance the mental and physical well being of individuals over 18 years of age.
Monday-Friday, noon-1 p.m.
Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 5:45-7 a.m; 9-10 a.m.
Saturday, 7-8:30 a.m.

Private Swim Lessons
Whether you're working on improving your times or just learning how to swim, private swim lessons are the fastest way to get you the individualized attention and instruction you need!
